Three weeks away

The doctors say we probably won't be meeting you anytime soon. I thought while we wait I'd recap you on some of the awesome details of your life so long.

  • We found out about you in April of 2011. It all started with a root canal. Your dad was the third person to find out we were pregnant. He doesn't let me forget that
  • The first twelve weeks of your life you were HUNGRY. I gained 11 lbs in 12 weeks. Your great grandma was convinced I was having twins. We also got to see you unexpectedly when you were 10 weeks old. You did a backflip during the ultrasound.
  • The only thing that I wanted to eat was tuna (I hate tuna) The only thing that made me not sick was jolly ranchers.
  • The last trimester I drank an entire gallon of milk every other day. We think you are going to have VERY strong bones.
  • You get hiccups three or four times a day. It makes my entire belly move.
  • We think you really like music. Sometimes when I sing you stop kicking immediately and relax.

We can't wait to meet you little Aiden.

Love,
Mom and Dad

Welcome to the world sweet Aiden

Dear Aiden,

You are finally here. You exceed every hope and dream we had as we looked forward to meeting you. You are only five days old and you've already made us so proud. Right now I'm writing this letter as I sit in the hospital bed while you bravely "sun-tan" underneath a phototherapy bed. You've got quite the case of Jaundice - and the dr.'s admitted you last night. Mom got scared and cried and Dad just got really quiet and wanted to hold you all the time. Then we prayed together as a family - all three of us. Mom decided that everything about your life so far has been extraordinary. Your conception, your birth - so why wouldn't this be the same? We decided as a family to go into the hospital praying that God would use all experiences of your life to bring glory to himself. It's pretty clear that the creator of the universe loves you and has very special plans for your life. Mom and Dad feel so blessed to watch all the ways God has been using you. Today Mom got to have a conversation with one of the nurses about God and how he gave us you even though everyone told us it was impossible.
All the dr.s and nurses can't get over how cute you are. Everyone stands around and laughs as you stretch all the way out and put both of your hands under your head -ready to sun tan. Even the lab techs are impressed with how brave you are - even after they stick you with needles.
